A Clear Start routine for every skin concern

A Clear Start routine for every skin concern

So you’re dealing with breakouts, but sometimes your skin can also feel tight and dehydrated? Or you have a sensitive skin with some breakouts popping up from time to time? We break down the top 3 Clear Start products focusing on each concern you’re dealing with.

I have a dehydrated skin with breakouts

When you have a dehydrated skin, it is important to not only hydrate the skin internally (by drinking water) but to also use products that are going to give you a boost of hydration topically. Hyaluronic Acid is a key ingredient to look out for when dealing with dehydration, it binds up to 1000x its own weight in water to hold moisture on the skin and give you a healthy, dewy glow.

Cleanser: Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash
Daily Moisturiser: Clearing Defense SPF30
Night-time moisturiser: Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion

I have oily skin with enlarged pores

A cleanser containing Salicylic Acid is going to be key in getting oil flow under control, it dives deep into the follicle to help clear excess oils and keep skin balanced. Another key ingredient is to incorporate Niacinamide and other oil absorbers into your routine to minimize pores and reduce all over oily shine. Always remember to still wear a moisturiser, even if you have oily skin. When skipping this step the skin over-compensates resulting in even oilier skin. Opt for a lightweight, oil-free option instead to focus on dehydration.

Cleanser: Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash
Treatment: Micro-pore Mist
Moisturiser: Cooling Aqua Jelly

I have a sensitive skin with breakouts

Sensitive skins need to be very mindful not to over-cleanse or over exfoliate the skin – ensure you are washing your face in lukewarm water rather than hot to avoid any unnecessary redness. If you have the odd breakout appearing, go for a spot treatment which helps to hydrate the skin at the same time as dehydration can trigger sensitivity. Keep skin protected by using a moisturiser day and night to calm the skin and ensure you’re using SPF daily.

Treatment: Breakout Clearing Booster
Daytime Moisturiser: Clearing Defense SPF30
Nighttime moisturiser: Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion

I have normal skin, with the odd breakout

Your focus should be maintaining and protecting a normal skin, ensure you are cleansing the skin daily to avoid a build up of excess oils, dirt, debris and makeup – this will ensure breakouts don’t pop up! A treatment serum just used on the areas needed if breakouts appear will be all you need. Ensure you are protecting skin daily from harmful UV rays whilst maintaining hydration levels.

Moisturiser: Clearing Defense SPF30

I get blackheads!

Blackheads commonly appear on the nose and/or chin area and are more common if you have an oily skin type and enlarged pores. Along with using a cleanser daily containing Salicylic Acid to control oil flow and help with blackhead impaction plugs, use a treatment mask on a weekly basis to help decongest the skin by opening pores to assist with blackhead removal.

Cleanser: Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash
Treatment: Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask
Moisturiser: Cooling Aqua jelly

I have scarring and marks left behind from breakouts

Post-inflammatory pigmentation is the flat brown-reddish marks left behind after a breakout has healed and can take a long time to completely fade. Using a treatment serum after the breakout has healed will help to fade the mark left behind whilst reinforcing the skins barrier to prevent future damage. Using a cleanser containing Salicylic Acid will also help to exfoliate the skin and bring newer skin cells towards the surface.

Cleanser: Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash
Treatment: Post-Breakout Fix
Moisturiser: Clearing Defense SPF30
